What does the Consumer Review Fairness Act mean for consumers and online reviews?

My thoughts: As a digital marketer, I love this. But I’m also kind of shocked that companies and individual have sued for negative reviews. Kind of seems like something that should be protected under the 1st Amendment, doesn’t it? Of course slander/libel should still be punishable … but the concept of suing for someone saying something true about you (that you don’t like them saying) is just going too far.

It’s unfortunate the government had to get involved in this, but it’s a good law imo.
